Dr. Joel, Senior Pastor has served the First Baptist Church of Crowley since March 2004. He has a passion to see people both encounter the life changing presence of the Lord Jesus Christ as well as allowing His presence to be manifest through their lives so all mankind may see Jesus in them. Dr. Joel enjoys building relationships with people and getting to know their life circumstances and needs. His sermons reflect practical Biblical truths which relate to real life needs.

Dr. Joel is married to Sherilyn Marsh McCoy who is a school counselor to Burleson High School students. Sherry enjoys teaching Sunday school to fifth and sixth graders as well as singing in the Sanctuary Choir. Dr. Joel and Sherry have two children: Nathan, who recently graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelors Degree in Public Relations; and Katie, a junior at Baylor University as a Fashion Merchandising major. Church and family are the most important items in the life of the McCoy family.
