Jenny Francisco-Everwine, Minister to Children, has served at FBC since September 2007. Prior to coming to the US, she taught at the Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary in Baguio City, Philippines for five years. Jenny grew up in the church and was involved in the ministry as Sunday School teacher, VBS teacher, and conducted church choirs at different levels. She also taught high school for one year after graduating from college.

Jenny has a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education in the area of Music Education from the Philippine Normal University and a Master’s Degree in Church Music (majored in Choral Conducting and minored in Voice Performance) at the Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary.  She recently completed her Master of Church Music Degree with concentrations in Voice Pedagogy and Music Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2007.

Jenny has been married to Tim since 2003. Tim has a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M and works for Vought Aircraft Company in Grand Prairie.  Tim and Jenny have two girls, Katherine (6) and Kristine (2).

Jenny enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family.

Proverbs 22:6 sums up Jenny’s philosophy of the children’s ministry: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (KJV)

What hobbies do you enjoy in your free time?
During my spare time, I like to read. I also enjoy gardening when weather permits. Playing with my daughters, Katherine and Kristine, is also fun. I like to go shopping, too.

What are your favorite foods?
Of course, Filipino food and almost any Asian food. I liked Korean food a lot even before I went to Korea in 2007. My trip there confirmed my love for Korean food. Their Korean barbeque is really outstanding. I like McDonald's french fries, but I try to avoid them since they are not healthy.

What TV shows can you not survive without seeing?
I watch Survivor whenever I can.

What are your favorite books?
There are several books on my list. The Bible is the top on the list. The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren has helped me in my ministry. I became acquainted with Your Inner Child of the Past by W. Hugh Missildine when I enrolled at the seminary in the Philippines. It helped me look inside myself and evaluate who I am. It's more of a psychological book. Another psychological book is by Scott Peck: The Road Less Traveled. When it comes to relationships, I had fun reading Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. Another essential book for building a good relationship between husband and wife is The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman.

If you could travel, where would you go?
I haven't been to Europe, so I would like to go there. I would like to visit where the great musicians of the past have lived and died. Of course, I would like to go visit my family in the Philippines whenever I can. The other parts of Asia where I would like to go visit are Taj Mahal in India, the Great Wall of China, Israel, and Thailand.

What are you passionate about in ministry?
I like directing adult and children's choirs.
