Can You See It?
Vision 2025

I look out in the not so distant future and I see a community transformed. Like a river that overflows its banks after a long rain so will we be as we take the gospel outside of these walls. I see a flood of love and hope and peace from the Gospel saturating the families of our time that will shake the world in their time. As a result of this watering the soil of our community will produce a harvest of souls like we have not seen. FBC will be a leader in baptisms because of the gospel she gives away. FBC will see the campus expand to support the spiritual development necessary for a growing and dynamic moment. This overflow will affect us all as we grow more generous, which will eradicate debt and provide for the dreams we share today.

I see a community that is connected and engaged by the water lines of this Gospel flood so that it changes forever the trajectory of our next generation. Because of FBC there will not be another generation that rises up that knows not the Lord or His mighty works.

Can you see it?

I see a body more than a building. I see the people of God connecting with those in their homes, their neighborhoods, their classes, their jobs, and their community. I see a town transformed through the connective tissue of love, hope, grace, and Jesus because a body of believers chose to go rather than stay, to speak rather than be silent, to linger rather than leave, to obey and not object, to have faith instead of fear. I see a body beautifully connecting with her Creator and the Community where she resides.

Can you see it?

I see compassion more than concern. FBC will be the leader of compassion to those in need of community. We will be the connecting point for those who have it all together with those who don’t, with those who have much with those who have little. I see a future where community leaders will be knocking on our doors for options because we have been knocking on the door of Heaven over their offices. I see a time when our schools will excel because families are thriving, tables are gathering places for conversation, and cupboards are filled. I see a future that finds solutions more palatable than speeches, and responses more so than rhetoric.

Can you see it?

I see freedoms experienced because fear is eradicated. Like a 3 year old dancing in the aisle to a silent soundtrack that fills her heart, we will be dancing to the Spirit’s call. I see a spiritual surplus spilling over into financial freedom, new buildings, and new mission partnerships.

I see world changers more than pew warmers. I see it. I see hundreds of folks, like you and me, realizing the dream of God and speaking life into our world. I see classrooms where Jesus is felt, playgrounds where Jesus is spoken, lunchrooms where the gospel is discussed, stores where spiritual conversations are regular, civic events where the Spirit has influence. I see dinner tables and bedrooms in prayer and biblical conversations all because we obeyed the Bible when it says to make disciples and not just be one.

Can you see it?

I see parents that are equipped for each phase they will encounter. I see strong connections of families walking together, doing life together, and changing this world together. I see the next generation from this community rising up with the confidence of Christ, the hope of eternity, the strength of the Spirit, and the resiliency to withstand the very attack of Satan himself. Why? Because we today have chosen to stake our claim on this land which God has given us. A land not always made of dirt, but of heart and soul and mind. Because we will not allow another generation to rise up and not know the Lord and his good works. Because we have chosen to stand firm today our families will be able to stand strong tomorrow. We love the church but serve the home. We have executed our past and embraced our present so that we can see a preferred future realized in our lifetime.

Can you see it?

  • 6 years from now little Ellie Olsen goes to school.
  • 6 years from now young Hannah goes to youth
  • 6 years from now Evan is in college.
  • 6 years from now our Juniors and Seniors are getting married.
  • 6 years from now our young adults are having babies.

FBC will be there to walk our families through the transition. Like Israel, often our families only see the sea on one side and Pharaoh on the other. Like Moses, we will be the agent of help. We are going to see God parting the waters so we all transition on dry ground. FBC will be the leader in parent equipping and education. FBC will be the leader in providing transition help. I see all the rooms in the Betty Horn and CLC transformed into the childhood center.
6 years from now. We have a big task but a bigger God. We have meager means but a massive God. We are limited but have a limitless God. We are fearful but have a faithful God. We are weak but have a strong God. We are unable but our God is completely able.

So let us take a new grip with tired hands, a strong stance on weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet so others will not falter but become strong.

Let us shout “I believe”
Let us rise and shout for our God has given us victory.
Shout for the future is ours.
Shout for a community in Christ.
Shout for families set free.
Shout so the next generation will know the Lord and His mighty works.

Can you see it?

Will you rise up and take it?

"My loving people. We see the sails of the enemy approaching. We hear the Spanish guns over the water. Soon now, we will meet them face-to-face. I am resolved, in the midst and heat of the battle, to live or die amongst you all. While we stand together no invader shall pass. Let them come with the armies of Hell; they will not pass! And when this day of battle is ended, we meet again in Heaven or on the field of victory." i

"I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand!" ii Let us go. Let us take hold of the victory that God has promised!
