12th Annual Quilt Show

Free admission, silent auction, holiday items, door prizes, donation quilt drawing at 2:00 pm.

Get tickets for donation quilt (shown) at the door or from any FBC Quilter – $1 each or six for $5.  Funds raised are given to FBC and Community Organizations, for supplies and material for ministry, and to provide community outreach.

You may enter a quilt, and certified quilt appraiser will judge, critique, and appraise your quilts:

Entry Information

Categories

Quilt entries are open to any quilter or quilt owner in the area. Any size quilt may enter. Categories available for entry are “Old”, “New Machine Quilted ”, “New Hand Quilted”, or “Quilted by a Group“. To be considered old, the quilt or quilt top must have been sewn in the 1960’s or before but the quilting may have been done recently. Group quilting must have been done by four or more people. Individuals may enter only one quilt per category. If you prefer, quilts may be entered in the “Display Only” category.

When, Where, and How

Quilt entry forms and $3 fee per quilt must be received by Fri., Nov. 4, in the Quilting room at First Baptist Church Youth Bldg, or mailed to June Griffin, 4001 Freeman Ln., Crowley, TX 76036. Checks may be made out to First Baptist Church Quilters. Quilts are due in the Community Life Center (gym area) , by 12:00 noon Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011 before the Sat. Nov. 13 show. They may be entered earlier at the church Youth Building (south 2-story) in the quilting room on our regular quilting days of Tuesday – 6 to 8 pm or Thursday – 2 to 4 pm. Any FBC Quilter can receive your entry and enter it for you before the dead line. Entries require a signed release form at time of entry. All entries also are required to have a sewn on “sleeve” for hanging. Pre-made sleeves are available for purchase. Every quilt will receive an entry form label and will be kept secure before and during the show.

Judging

Critiques and judging will be done by a certified quilt appraiser who is independent of FBC Quilters. Ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be awarded. Optional oral and written appraisals are also available for new , old or antique quilts for a fee. These appraisals may be used for insurance purposes or deciding quilt value and can be done during the show, but appointment times fill up fast and must be made early.

Pick Up

After the show closes at 2:00, entries may be picked up beginning at 2:30 to 3:00 pm.
